It Isn't Obvious Department: A while back, Monty Python's Flying Circus had a sketch involving a gentleman named Ron Obvious attempting to jump the English Channel. Needless to say, he didn't make it. Well, someone has finally done it, but it wasn't Ron Obvious (hence the title). This guy cheated a bit -- he jumped out of an airplane at 30,000 ft (9,000 m) above Dover, and glided to Calais.

Halcyon Days Of Youth Department:

Calvin: "I have a question, dad."
Dad: "Sure."
C: "Which exactly are the halcyon days of my youth? Is Saturday one?"
D: "I believe they're awarded retroactively when you're grown up."
C: "You can't identify them until then?"
D: "Halcyonity is relative."
C: "I'll go ask mom."

(From Calvin and Hobbes.)

Heh. "Halcyonity is relative." I love that.
